On Thursday, July 27, 2006, at approximately 11 p.m., police responded to a radio call at 20 Sewells Road in regards to an unwanted guest.
Police located the lifeless body of a 34-year-old man inside an apartment with obvious signs of trauma to his body.

The deceased has been identified as Darren Shawn Smith, 34, of Toronto.
On Saturday, July 29, 2006, a post-mortem examination was conducted and the cause of death was determined to be “Compressive Neck Injuries.”
Camillo Angiolillo, 27, has been arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder in relation to the death of Darren Shawn Smith.
He was scheduled to appear in court on Saturday, July 29, 2006, at Old City Hall Courts, 10 a.m.

On Thursday, July 20, 2006, members of the 22 Division Community Response Unit, along with the Emergency Task Force, executed a search warrant at 135 Eighth Street, Unit 111.
As a result of the investigation, it is alleged that two firearms and a quantity of crack cocaine were seized.
Warrants have been issued for two outstanding suspects.
The first suspect is Willy Richard Gaete, 24, described as white, 6’, 200 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.
