Man wanted for Attempt Murder of a Police Officer, 23 Division

Toronto Police Service :: To Serve and Protect: "The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance in locating a man wanted for Attempt Murder of a police officer.

At approximately 3:07 a.m., a Toronto Police Service officer from 23 Division Traffic Unit was on routine patrol.

It is alleged that:

-while in the area of Kipling Avenue and Rowntree Road, the officer observed a man walking from the Humber River Valley onto Rowntree Road carrying a long-barrelled firearm,

-the officer called other units for assistance and a foot pursuit was initiated,

-during the course of the pursuit, the suspect turned toward the officer and fired his weapon,

-the officer exchanged fire and the suspect continued to flee on foot north from Rowntree Road along the Humber River Valley.

The suspect is described as: black, approximately 6'0', wearing a black mask, black shirt with short sleeves, dark pants and dark shoes. "
