Toronto street gangs spread out - Toronto street gangs spread out: BRANTFORD — Police Chief Derek McElveny says he has sleepless nights dreading what bad guy is headed down the road next from Toronto.

It seems this mid-size city of 90,000, like others within easy driving distance of Toronto, including Barrie and Pickering, is the victim of a new phenomenon of big-city street gangs migrating from their traditional turf, a direct response to Toronto police turning up the heat.
