In the course of my masters program, I was required to read the following article about the Guildford Four and Woolwich Trials (more commonly known from the movie In the Name of the Father). This is an incredibly interesting article that sets out what happened in depth and demonstrates and teaches valuable lessons for us to apply to present systems of justice - particularly with respect to terrorism offences, renditions, and the obvious potential for massive miscarriages of justice.
For a shorter version, check out the Wikipedia article here.
